Keep practicing the three lists of sight words! I will be testing the students again next week. The results will be sent home later this month. Here are the grade level expectations for this time of year:
basic achievement 40 - 54 words
good achievement 55 - 74 words
excellent achievement 75 words or more
Please note that your child should know how to say the words quickly. Sight words are not meant to be sounded out. Flashcards work well for practice. Please see the cover letter in your child's treasure book for other ideas on how to practice the words. The three lists of words can also be found in the treasure book.
