Tomorrow will be our field trip to the Leighton Art Centre.  Please clean out your child's backpack tonight.  Send a big snack, lunch and a full water bottle.  Don't forget to dress really warm for the weather (hat, mitts, etc.) as we will be outside for part of the day!

Blog Challenge:  We have been practicing how to rhyme words.  Make a list of rhyming words (for example hat, bat, sat, mat) and bring it to school to share.

Have you been using Raz-Kids lately?  Raz-Kids has stories that your child can read and listen to at his or her reading level.  There are also comprehension questions.  This is an excellent resource offered free of charge to all students at New Brighton School.

Blog Challenge:  Go onto Raz-Kids and read three stories.

Treasure books have gone home again for the weekend.  Please take some time to practice the poems with your child and return the book to school on Monday.

Blog Challenge:  Make some leaf rubbings at home and bring them in to show the class tomorrow.

Please send a pair of headphones in a Ziploc bag labelled with your child's name.  The headphones will be used during our ipad and laptop time.  The headphones will stay in your child's bin at school and will be returned to you at the end of the school year.  If you could send in the headphones by next week that would be great!
